Redion supports employees affected by cancer

In June, as many organizations celebrate Cancer Survivorship Month, Redion recognizes the resilience of colleagues who have experienced cancer and the importance of peer support throughout the journey.

Since 2021, Redion’s Cancer Charter has helped raise cancer awareness, encourage early screening and support employees affected by cancer. Signed by the Group’s leadership team, it reflects a clear commitment: creating a workplace where people feel informed, supported and included throughout their cancer journey.

As Virginie Babinet, CEO Travel insurance and assistance, and sponsor of the employee-led initiative “cancer alumni”, explains, “supporting employees affected by cancer means standing alongside them throughout the experience and helping them return to work without prejudice or bias”. The Charter reflects this commitment through four concrete actions: promoting prevention, providing paid time for screening, supporting employees during treatment and helping them return to work.

Cancer is not a topic we discuss once a year. It is an ongoing commitment. World Cancer Day on 4 February and Pink October create important opportunities to learn, share experiences and take action together. Throughout the year, webinars, awareness campaigns and screening initiatives help keep prevention visible and encourage early detection across the Group.

The Charter also promotes a culture where cancer is not a taboo. Employees can choose whether to continue working during treatment or take leave, according to their needs and medical recommendations. Flexible arrangements, ongoing communication and practical support help people stay connected and feel supported at every stage of their journey.

This approach reflects a simple principle highlighted by Véronique Destruel, Chief People and Organization Officer: “the care we provide to our clients is the same care we strive to provide to our people. Whether during treatment, on leave or returning to work, employees should be able to rely on a workplace that values dignity, inclusion and respect.”

Finally, the commitment extends beyond awareness. Employees diagnosed with cancer can access a free second medical opinion, and since 2026 this support has also been extended to employees’ children diagnosed with cancer.
